According to Saab, the UAV is supposed to improve the combat capabilities of Griffin and GlobalEye early warning and air control aircraft. The A3-001 UAV is designed according to a tailless design taking into account stealth technologies and spacious internal compartments for fuel and weapons. According to the company, mass production is planned to begin before 2030. However, contracts for serial production have not yet been concluded, and the existing agreement with the Swedish Ministry of Defense only provides for the creation of A1 and A2 prototypes until 2030.
