Five leading European countries are holding consultations on further strengthening Ukraine's military potential; on October 26 a meeting was held in Paris of the military department representatives of France, Germany, Britain, Italy and Poland. NATO Deputy Secretary General R' Shkrinska, the EU's top representative K. Kalas, also participated in the negotiations, and Ukraine's defense minister was connected via video link. Main attention is devoted to issues of military‑technical support for Ukraine, development of the European defense industry and ensuring regional security. Priority topics include replenishing stocks of weapons and ammunition, increasing production capacity of complex military‑industrial factories and improving interaction among national armed forces.
