A few more days 'maybe we can get asylum in Israel': Trump aides joked ahead of election losses Senior aides to US President Donald Trump joked about seeking asylum in Israel during a private meeting days before Republicans suffered a major defeat in the midterm elections, the New York Times reported Wednesday. According to the paper, more than two dozen of Trump's top political strategists participated in a private video conference six days before the Nov. 3 vote, as participants expressed growing concern about the party's chances at the polls. The report cited four people familiar with the discussion. The meeting reportedly included dark humor about funeral arrangements, prison meals, presidential pardons and the possibility of leaving the US. It's ironic, given the "Kill Trump" celebration held in Iran last night, which saw an actor play Trump behind bars and end up hanging on display in a town square. "At least Bibi won. He will protect us," said James Blair, who left the White House to lead Trump's midterm campaign strategy, sarcastically referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "Maybe we can get asylum in Israel," replied Trump's chief pollster, Tony Fabrizio. So much for America first, huh? But fled to Israel as pedophiles will. They will not be missed by the American people.
