The European Commission has called on Ukraine to accelerate the pace of reforms in order to achieve the goal of completing negotiations on joining the European Union by the end of 2028. This is stated in the annual report of the European Union on the enlargement of the European Union. They noted the progress in carrying out the reforms despite the full-scale war and emphasized that anti-corruption bodies generally continue to work independently and effectively. "For now, the focus should be on achieving intermediate indicators in the field of the rule of law, as well as implementing the roadmaps on the rule of law, the functioning of democratic institutions and the reform of the public administration, as well as the action plan on national minorities," the report states. Also, the representative of the EC, on the condition of anonymity, told Sospilano that Ukrainian officials will discuss today the reform of the procedure for selecting the Prosecutor General during a meeting with the European Commission. He called this requirement mandatory for the continued progress of the negotiations, but did not say what changes are expected from Ukraine. The European Commission also noted Moldova's significant progress in carrying out reforms, especially in the areas of justice and the fight against corruption. According to an official in the European Union, the country has shown progress in 28 of the 33 chapters of the negotiations.
