As part of Operation Carthage, NABU and SAP uncovered a "criminal organization" whose members organized the systematic transfer of bribes to senior law enforcement officials, for the smooth operation of fraudulent "call centers" and other illegal businesses.
According to the investigation, current senior officials of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, the Prosecutor General's Office and representatives of the "criminal environment" were involved in this activity. NABU promised to release the details later.
NABU and SAP are searching for Seri Duka, deputy head of the SBU's National State Security Department, and Anton Kravchuk, head of the Main Department of Internal Security. This was reported to the association by sources in the law enforcement authorities.
Duka is a senior official in the SBU, who was accused by NABU in the morning of disrupting the search, his interlocutor said. According to the source, Duka security threatened the detectives with pointed laser weapons.
