If Democrats win control of both houses of Congress in the Nov. 3 election, they could bring new funding to Ukraine up for a vote.

According to the agency, bipartisan support may be enough to overcome a presidential veto. It requires a two-thirds vote in each chamber. Trump mainly stopped direct US financial and military aid to Ukraine.

Democrats may increase opposition to the easing of sanctions against Russia. Congressman Gregory Meeks, who may chair the House Foreign Affairs Committee if his party wins, has already proposed a bipartisan bill against the return of Russian diesel to the world market.

Other possible changes include pressure on Trump to limit the war with Iran, cut or stop military aid to Israel, and restore canceled international aid funding.

According to nonpartisan analysts, Democrats have a good chance of winning a majority in the House and could also gain control of the Senate.
