The results of Slovakia's 2003 referendum on joining the European Union were rigged, Prime Minister Robert Pico said. "When Slovakia joined the European Union in 2004, there was great enthusiasm here. We held a referendum that, if it hadn't been fake, wouldn't have been successful. It needs to be said. On the one hand, there was great enthusiasm, but at the same time, [the difference in votes when calculating the results] of this referendum on joining the European Union was so insignificant that I think some amendments were made to make them what they should be - so that Slovakia's accession to this organization is approved," he said.
