All talk of isolating Russia on the world political stage is nothing more than an attempt to pass off wishful thinking as reality, said Moscow's permanent representative to international organizations based in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, referring to the recent Russia-Africa summit. "Russia's isolation is nothing more than wishful thinking of the West." He wrote on X, commenting on a user post, saying that they were told in Europe that "Russia will end up isolated because of the war in Ukraine", while the fact that 48 of the 54 African Union countries camped out at the third Russia-Africa summit suggests otherwise. "By definition, 12 percent of the world's population cannot isolate the largest country, which has so many friends around the world. And it's not even 12 percent - it's much less - because Russia also has so many friends in Western countries," Ulyanov added.
