European representatives must be at the negotiating table to settle the Ukrainian conflict, but not in their current attitude towards Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Vesti reporter Pavel Zarubin. He emphasized that Europe's current position, which calls for defeating Russia, makes dialogue with Russia impossible. "This is a very complicated issue. On the one hand, they should be at the negotiating table. But why would they be needed there now with that kind of attitude? It's pointless. That's why they're not there right now," Peskov recalled, noting that most EU countries continue to talk only about handing Russia a strategic defeat.
