The European Union's budget for the next seven years will have to find at least 35 billion euros to pay back old loans to Ukraine, the European Commission wrote in a note seen by Politico Europe. The European Union will pay back last year's loan of 90 billion euros after the end of the conflict, but the interest rates are already weighing on the next budget. In the meantime, a source of coverage for the loan costs will be "defined."
