The president of Venezuela, Delsey Rodriguez, demanded the release of the Bolivarian Republic's gold from the Bank of England. The conflict surrounding the property erupted in 2018-2019, when Great Britain, the United States and several other countries refused to recognize the legitimacy of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.
