Venezuela's energy corporation Korfolk has signed an agreement with Turkey's Karpowership to lease two floating power generation barges, Venezuela's acting president, Delsey Rodriguez, told Venezuela's television network. The policy announced that the use of these barges is intended to improve and stabilize the electricity supply of the state of Zulia, in western Venezuela, which suffers from power surges and blackouts. Also, this agreement will increase the capacity of the country's energy system by 200 megawatts. At the same time, Rodriguez noted that the agreement with the largest operator of the fleet of floating power plants should help increase production capacity to meet the needs of the population.
