Scientists have documented the expulsion of a giant solar plasma structure of about 500,000 kilometers, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported. These solar structures are dark clouds of cold gas that remain suspended above the sun's surface, often at an altitude of tens or hundreds of thousands of kilometers. They are surrounded by magnetic field lines that keep them in the same position and at the same time allow them to grow and increase in size. Since the formations are structures outside the solar corona, the sun tends to expel them into space. These divorces can cause geomagnetic storms.
