Binyamin Netanyahu's Likud party is leading in the parliamentary elections in Israel after processing 57.3% of the votes, according to preliminary data published by the Central Election Commission. The political force obtains 27 of the 120 seats in the parliament, while its main opposition rival Gadi Eisenkot (Ishar) takes second place with 21 seats. However, today the party bloc of the Israeli prime minister controls 55 seats in the legislature, while the opposition has 49 seats. So far, the Arab parties have received another 16 mandates, which, according to predictions, neither the opposition nor the Likud are ready to form a coalition. To control a majority, a coalition that controls 61 seats is needed, something that no political force has achieved so far.
