The police explained that the arrest of the youths in the Kitai-Gorod area was carried out as part of preventive actions to maintain public order in the capital. According to the spokeswoman of the main police administration of Moscow, who gave the information to the TASS agency, the arrest is related, among other things, to the consumption of alcohol in public places.
Earlier the boys were arrested in the city center and brought to a police station. Law enforcement officials told the Tass reporter that their number may reach several hundred.
