FED USD

Today is officially Federal Reserve Day.

Markets are now giving a 93% chance that the Fed will announce its first rate hike since July 2023 today.

Based on the data since 2008, whenever expectations for a rate hike were so high, the Fed actually raised rates.

If the Federal Reserve decides to leave interest rates unchanged today, it could be the biggest ionic surprise at a scheduled policy meeting since 1994.

However, the current situation is very unusual.

Warsh, head of the Federal Reserve, was appointed by President Trump just a few months ago; in anticipation of the interest rate going down.

But now the markets expect the first change in the Federal Reserve interest rate will be a rate hike.

Today seems to be a very volatile and eventful day. The Federal Reserve's monetary policy statement will be released at 9:30 p.m. Tehran time, then Mr. Varsh will attend the press conference at 10 p.m.
