UKMTO received a late report yesterday of an explosion involving a tanker approximately 16 nautical miles east of Hessab, Oman, in the Strait of Hormuz. The explosion occurred at the waterline on the port side of the tanker while it was sailing out through the strait. All crew members are safe and cared for, and the tanker remains operational, continuing its voyage under its own power.
