The Mississippi Senate election is still too close to call, with Scott Collums' (D) lead widening slightly over incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith (R). We likely won't have a predictable winner in this race for several days, though most of the ballots counted are likely to be provisional ballots that lean more heavily than Election Day ballots. No matter who wins, Mississippi has been a crazy over-performer for the Democratic Party. All areas of Mississippi turned significantly Democratic, and the state as a whole voted 23 points more Democratic than in 2024.
