Iran's supreme leader, Mujtaba Khamenei, ordered the country's armed forces to respond "immediately and effectively" to any threat from Israel, without geographical restrictions. During a meeting with senior military commanders, Khamenei directed the military to expand its target list to bring US and Israeli assets within striking range. The commanders briefed him on improving readiness and increased production of ammunition, reconnaissance systems and combat equipment. He warned that if the attacks against Iran are renewed, Tehran will "determine the timing and conditions" for the end of the war. Khamenei also called for stronger military intelligence, advanced defense technologies and greater domestic military capabilities.
