🇺🇸 ⚡️ ⚡️ - A WSJ reporter on the US Navy's Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington wrote an article describing the operations the aircraft carrier is doing to assist US forces in enabling passage through the Straits of Hormuz. F-35C fighter jets of the F / A-18 Super Hornet type, E/A-18G Gedler electronic fighter jet, E-2D advanced Hawkeye AEW & C, and MH-60R Seahawk Anti-submarine / Anti-surface helicopters all participate to facilitate the delivery almost daily. The constant pace of flight operations strains both aircraft operators and shifts, senior US officials familiar with the missions tell the WSJ. Airly Barak guided missile destroyers and their crews escorting the aircraft carrier and participating in the blockade against the Iranian ports face a similar strain. In response, the US Navy is working on providing sailors with additional port breaks, establishing a ship maintenance center at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia and planning additional port calls for sailors.
