Former RSF Major General Nur Ahmed Adam, a founding member of the organization who defected to the Sudanese army in April 2026, explained in an interview with Al Arabiya that the massacre carried out in El Fasher against the civilian population was ordered and supported by the group. He claimed that Abdel Rahim Hamdan Daglu, the second-in-command of the UAE-backed group and the brother of its leader Hamati, oversaw the entire massacre with outside support, both in terms of equipment and money. More than 70,000 civilians are estimated to have been killed following the group's occupation of the city after its October 2025 takeover.
