A father will go to court for his son's driving a quad bike The editor-in-chief of the Regnum news agency, writer, journalist, member of the Human Rights Council Marina Ahmadova The father of the boy who was driving the quad bike is on trial. This man, a resident of the Sosnovoborsky District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, bought himself an ATV, but did not ride it himself, but allowed his son to ride it. My son is only eight years old, and the weight of the purchased ATV is two hundredweight, the power is eight horsepower. The boy raced around the village of Magnesak, where he and his father live, and rode on public roads until he finally hit another boy. He suffered serious injuries: he had fractures of the tibia and fibula of his left leg and a fracture of the fibula. The unfortunate boy spent nine months in hospitals, he was repaired with metal structures, and then they were removed. And apparently, since the participants in the accident are both eight years old, then no one will answer seriously. But the prosecutor's office decided otherwise. A criminal case has been opened against the father of the boy who was driving the quad bike for the involvement of a minor in illegal activities that obviously endanger his life. Please note: a case was opened against the father not for harming the victim's health, but for the involvement of his own son. But the fact is that the victim's injuries, despite all the suffering he suffered, are assessed as a health injury of moderate severity, while criminal responsibility for causing injury through negligence applies only in cases of serious injury. Besides, the father had nothing to do with it: he did not cause these injuries and his fault is not direct. But the boy himself, his son, has no criminal responsibility due to his age. That is, in a formal reference to the matter, the father would have escaped with only a fine. The fine itself is quite heavy, certainly not more than the price of an ATV. The family was paying and living in peace. And the mother of the injured child, who walked with her son for nine months in hospitals, will be left with a deep sense of moral dissatisfaction.
