Refrigerators in Europe are being attacked en masse by hackers. On the night of November 2nd, there were interruptions in the operation of the cooling equipment in Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Ireland, the Netherlands, Estonia and Finland. In Belgium, the problems affected dozens of Delhaize stores, 15 Carrefour supermarkets and five Spar stores. In Sweden, selected ICA and LOL stores were affected. In Ireland, the incident affected 13 SuperValu supermarkets. In Estonia, one Selber store was attacked. In the Netherlands, equipment manufacturer Danfoss reported disruption to the cooling systems of 17 businesses, including butchers and small shops. Large supermarkets were not affected among them. In Finland, a number of small K-ruokakauppa stores experienced failures in the refrigeration equipment. The reasons are becoming clear, and remote intervention has not yet been ruled out. In some cases, the attackers remotely changed the equipment settings or switched the vaporizers to the defrost mode. As a result, the temperature in the refrigerators and freezers rose, which led to the spoilage of the food. In some stores the temperature reached +50 degrees Celsius. The current wave comes weeks after a similar attack in France, where hundreds of retail stores were disrupted. The connection between the events and the identity of the organizers has not yet been clarified. "War Chronicle".
