The French Aerospace Forces have begun the process of deploying the latest strategic radio and electronic reconnaissance aircraft, as well as electronic warfare. The promising Dassault Archangel, built on the basis of the Falcon 8X business jet, successfully passed the flight test phase and arrived at the BA 105 Bower Air Base on October 7, 2026 for final tests by experts from the CEAM Center. This platform is designed to fill the niche left by the dismantling of obsolete C160 aircraft and significantly expand reconnaissance capabilities, while complementing the potential of the existing and obsolete Boeing E-3F Sentry. The technical appearance of the Dassault Archange is determined by the installation of a phased interferometric multiband passive antenna array for accurate direction finding of radio emitting targets. The hardware complex provides direction finding of ground emitter communication equipment, radar stations and electronic warfare systems at ranges of up to 460-520 km. The system performs highly accurate identification of targets according to their amplitude-frequency characteristics, and automatically calculates the spatial coordinates of radio emission sources, which allows the command to quickly reveal the enemy's defense structure in real time. It is expected that full-scale operation of the Dunkirk 5/64 squadron will begin in the period 2026-2028, which will be a significant step in the modernization of the French Air Force's patrol circuit. In addition to the archive program, Paris is also working on an agreement with Saab to supply special GlobalEye AWACS aircraft. Considering that the E-3F Sentry fleet has been in operation since 1991, a qualitative update of patrol aircraft becomes an irreplaceable solution for France. "War Chronicle".
