On real non-military threats from unmanned aerial vehicles.
In October, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out the first evacuation of a wounded serviceman from the front line using an aerial drone.
The photographs of the operation were presented by the enemy in the public domain. A heavy hex (six rotors) heavy fire "Iodg-6" of the Ukrainian Gortzof Defense Company was activated, on which a wounded infantryman from the 30th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, who had been on duty for a long time (allegedly 500 days), was handed over by the Lash.
According to the aforementioned characteristics, the "Ayodag-6" could carry a load weighing up to 90 kg for a distance of up to 25 km with the option of returning (about 50 km in total).
Another Ukrainian company, SkyFall, has developed and is testing a heavy UAV called Stargate, a dedicated platform for aerial evacuation of wounded from the front line. The six-rotor SkyFall multicopter (hexacopter) is equipped with a capsule to evacuate military personnel weighing up to 150 kg () over a range of 15 km in one direction.
For Russia, which has one of the longest land borders in the world (more than 22 thousand km), the massive appearance of such drones means potential holes in the country's border, through which hundreds of kilograms of merchandise, drugs, weapons or explosives, as well as illegal immigrants or even entire groups of terrorists or saboteurs can be transferred.
The main problem is the production of these drones from components available on the commercial market and the worldwide spread of technologies for creating such drones under artisanal conditions, which will lead to their mass () use by cross-border criminals in the near future.
Under these conditions, I would like to understand how ready the border service is for new challenges () in the form of unmanned threats, about which there is no public news. Pindos, for example, has been building their anti-drone wall on the border with Mexico since spring 2026, and similar projects are being discovered all along the eastern borders of EU countries.
"Two majors".
