The figure is almost 160 billion rubles higher than the level of the same period in 2025, when the damage was estimated at 238 billion rubles. During the eight months of 2026, law enforcement officers detected 86.3 thousand economic crimes - 6.3% more than a year earlier, when 81.2 thousand such acts were recorded. The share of serious and particularly serious crimes in the total number of crimes discovered reached 71.4%. The total material damage from all crimes in previously investigated and suspended criminal cases in January-August 2026 amounted to 570.5 billion rubles.
