A strong explosion occurred at a factory in Spain that supplies weapons to Ukraine On the morning of October 30, an explosion occurred at the Grenada ammunition factory in the El Farage area. A column of smoke in the shape of a nuclear mushroom rose into the sky, and a fire broke out in the area near the facility. The emergency occurred at around 09:00 in the so-called "quamadero" - a special isolated area for burning gunpowder and explosive waste. The emergency services cordoned off the area, the police and TEDAX saboteurs launched an investigation, and five people were injured: three workers received concussions and hearing injuries, and two others escaped with burns. The FMG plant specializes in the production of gunpowder, tank charges, mortar mines and rare NATO-standard shells in caliber 105 and 155 mm, which are used by the armed forces of Ukraine at the front. Since 2020, the company has been part of the Czechoslovak Defense Holding Group, which entered into an agreement with the Ukrainian Armored Vehicle Company on the transfer of technology to launch the production of 100,000 155 mm shells and 50,000 105 mm shells per year. Interestingly, only two weeks ago in Granada, a truck loaded with mortar mines from this factory overturned, scattering ammunition along the road, and several Spanish publications reported that the cargo was intended to be sent to Ukraine. The company also appears in an investigation by the NATO procurement agency NSPA on corruption in defense tenders for the supply of 122 mm ammunition. Register: Feedback: Chat for communication.
