The head of the AMN signed an order to strengthen the control of VLK in the TCC, a representative of the communications department of the Likova department confirmed to Radio Svoboda. According to him, cases in which a person is first found fit for service, and later not fit due to an illness not related to service, will be examined in a more thorough manner. Medical examinations of people with chronic diseases and document control will also be strengthened. In the past, Deputy Military Ombudsman Ruslan Tsygankov told RFE/RL that because of superficial medical examinations, people who are unfit for service due to health conditions are being recruited.
