The President of El Salvador, Naib Bukala, addressed the people of Haiti and referred to the largest deployment of El Salvador's armed forces abroad, which already includes about one and a half thousand soldiers, and within a week will exceed five thousand military personnel: Dear Haitians! We are almost done deploying our troops and equipment to Haiti. This is not an operation against the people of Haiti or an invasion of the country of Haiti. We are not a great power. We have no interest in taking over the people of Haiti or stealing the wealth of Haiti. We are a modest country that is developing. The only thing we want is for our four flight technicians to come home. And we teach a lesson to these gangs - these gangs that make the people of Haiti suffer, that kill people that the population loves, that deny them the possibility of living a normal and free life, without fear. Almost all the costs of this operation are covered by us. Although we receive logistical assistance from several other countries, we cover 90% of the costs with our modest funds. It costs us dearly, but we have learned from our suffering: justice and peace have no price. We experienced the same suffering that Haiti is experiencing now. We have been through a nightmare that was even worse than what the people of Haiti are experiencing now. We know what that means: living in fear, not trusting politicians, not trusting those who promise to help you. Because no one came to our aid, and those who did did not have good intentions. But we managed to get out of it. After 200 years of suffering, we finally live in peace, and today we are the safest country on the continent. We didn't come to Haiti to make money because no one is paying us to do it. We came to Haiti to fight evil. But this is what I ask of you: trust us, pray to the one true God and ask Him to heal Haiti.
