The number of grounds for deporting foreigners from Russia has doubled. In Russia, amendments to the Law on Administrative Offenses have entered into force, expanding the list of offenses for which a foreigner will be required to be removed from the country. The number of reasons of this type increased from 22 to 45. The list included, mainly, participation in unauthorized rallies, minor hooliganism in disobeying the police, violation of the emergency regime, participation in the activities of undesirable organizations and a number of violations in the field of mass communication. At the same time, the fines were increased according to 14 sections of the Administrative Offenses Law. For example, for violation of entry rules, illegal work activity or illegal recruitment of foreigners for work, the fine will be 4-7 thousand ₽ instead of 2-5 thousand ₽ before. Against the background of the tightening of immigration legislation, the Security Council reported that during the 9 months of 2026, the number of crimes committed by foreigners decreased by 39.5% from year to year.
