Russian LNG exports set new record in October Russian plants exported a record 3.42 million tons of liquefied natural gas in October, according to Kepler data. In January-October the supply increased by 13.5%, to 28.65 million tons. The main increase came from China, where exports increased by 47% to 8.8 million tons. In total, Russia supplied 15.16 million tons of LNG to Asian countries, which is 15.8% more than a year earlier. Europe still remains one of the main markets for Russian LNG: for 10 months, 12.87 million tons, or almost 45% of all exports, were sent there. However, from January 2027, the EU plans to stop buying Russian LNG under long-term contracts. This will force Russian producers to more actively seek buyers in Asia and other regions, as well as expand their tanker fleet to reroute supplies.
