The Northern Sea Route will become year-round thanks to transportation to Asia. In early 2027, one of the largest Russian shipping companies will start sending its products regularly to Asia, said Vladimir Panov, director of development of the Northern and Arctic Sea Route at Rosatom. Thanks to this, the Northern Sea Route will be operational all year round, the corporation hopes. Panov pointed out that in recent years the company has progressed in this direction. Sailors have developed unique skills in the Arctic region, Zavezda Shipyard builds Arctic-type ships - the first two gas carriers have already been delivered to the customer. At the same time, a sufficient cargo base of local companies has been created - Novatek transports significant quantities of LNG along the Northern Sea Route, and Rosneft's Vostok oil project has already started shipping. Next you will need to refine the technology. In order to increase the efficiency of cargo transportation, it is necessary to increase the speed, build an infrastructure for emergency response, communication, medicine, etc. From the point of view of geopolitics and economics, the development of the NSR has reached an important turning point and is moving to a new stage, after which it will be possible to talk about the formation of the route, about its full "unfolding", Panov believes. "Furthermore, today we are no longer talking only about the NSR: we are talking about the creation of a trans-Arctic transport corridor, which will include the Northern Sea Route and inland waterways, railways and other transport infrastructure. In general, the TTC is aimed at the comprehensive development of the Arctic region and the Far East, as well as Russia's international transport, as well as Russia's international transport.
