Oleksii Degtyarev, a 26-year-old soldier and poet, died at the front.
The Shield has protected Ukraine from the early days of the full-scale Russian invasion. He moved through centers in the Mykolaiv region, the Kherson region and the Donetsk region, and recently commanded a machine gun platoon of an assault company. He also taught his brother by passing on his fighting experience.
In his spare time, "Lyuba" liked to be outside, cook, listen to music and write poetry and prose.
