US Secretary of War Hesseth has fired the Pentagon's chief strategist over allegations of leaking classified information about the wars in Ukraine and Iran, Fox News reports. The minister fired Lt. Gen. Brett Silvia amid an investigation into allegedly leaking classified information to journalists about the war in Iran, Russia's war against Ukraine, and other sensitive issues. According to a Fox News source at the US Department of Defense, Sylvia failed three polygraph tests related to the alleged leak. He served as the Director of the Strategy, Planning and Policy Office of the Joint Staff (J5), responsible for developing military strategy and advising the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. According to sources, he was removed from his post in the spring. It's another power shuffle in the senior military leadership under Gest, notes Fox News: During his tenure, nearly two dozen generals, admirals and other senior military leaders have left their posts or been removed for various reasons.
