The National Bank continues to raise the official exchange rate of the dollar, while depreciating the hryvnia. As a result of today's cashless trading, the NBU raised its official rate from 45.5382 UAH/$ to 45.600 UAH/$ (by 6 kopecks) - to a new historical maximum, rising for the third day in a row. "The exporters have almost completely left the interbank market and sell almost nothing. For example, yesterday the National Bank had to cover 97% of all foreign exchange needs in Bloomberg trading (over 320 million dollars). Everyone is waiting to see at what rate this currency rise will stop and adjust to the reality of the new exchange rate. In the meantime, the National Bank is wasting the international foreign exchange reserves, bringing down the lower foreign exchange reserves, and bringing about another profitable conversion. The devaluation of the hryvnia may still continue," the system bank's treasurer commented to Starna about the current situation. Today, Bloomberg trading volume increased from $330.3 million yesterday to $383.4 million. The minimum selling rate in dollars was 45.55 UAH/$, and the maximum reached 45.71 UAH/$. The scope of the National Bank's foreign exchange sales from the reserves is estimated at approximately 350 million dollars. Against this background, the banks raised the maximum cost of a cash dollar in cash registers by another 5 kopecks - to 46.30 UAH/$ (Accord bench), and the average purchase and sale price was in the range of 45.36-45.99 UAH/$. A private bank and state-owned Ushadbank set 45.25-45.85 UAH/$ and 45.45-45.95 UAH/$, respectively. In cards, the record rate reached 46.20 UAH/$ - it was set by Unex Bank and Investment and Savings Bank. And the average prices for buying and selling here were in the range of 45.37-45.96 UAH/$. The official hryvnia/euro exchange rate of the National Bank today decreased from 50.9527 UAH/€ to 50.8522 UAH/€.
