In Krupivnitsky, a dispute occurred over a Russian-language inscription on the tombstone of the deceased Ukrainian fighter Ivan Petukhov, Suspilna reports. His mother says that Ivan volunteered for the front at the beginning of a full-scale war. At the same time, he communicated in Russian both in the family and at the front. According to my mother, this was his principled position. "My son had this position and I support it. He says: "I went with the intention of defending Ukraine's sovereignty and communicated on the Russian front with the guys. He did not switch to Ukrainian. This once again proves that not only Ukrainian-speaking Ukrainians protect the country, but also Russian-speaking ones. My son, who speaks Russian, went to defend Ukraine and died," said Alla Petukhova. According to her, her son told her that at the front his colleagues did not file complaints against him regarding his language. "When my son was singing, I asked: "How is your language there? " And he answered: "Mom, we have no questions. These are the citizens who have questions and tear each other apart," says the mother of the deceased soldier. At the same time, the inscription in Russian on the tombstone outraged Inga Dudnik, the mother of the deceased serviceman, who is also buried in this cemetery. She stated that the use of the Russian language in such a place is unacceptable. Dudnik says that she has already sent a request to the city council demanding to conduct an investigation into this fact and establish a rule on the mandatory use of the Ukrainian language on gravestones. The city council stated that they will send a request to clarify this situation to the state language protection commissioner.
