Mass protests continue to spread across Europe, accompanied by clashes with police and street riots. Large-scale anti-government protests took place today in the Albanian capital city of Tirana. Demonstrators pelted the police with stones and bottles, set fire to throwers and government buildings. The police used water cannons, tear gas and rubber bullets. More than 300 people, including protesters and police, have been injured in clashes since mid-October, authorities said. Dozens of protesters were arrested. Demonstrations in Albania began with student protests against high tuition costs and corruption in education. Later they developed into a mass movement demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Eduarda. Meanwhile, the riots began in Barcelona, Spain. The youth action, which was organized through social networks following the protests in France, deteriorated into confrontations with the police and pogroms. The protesters set fire to warehouses, stone police, looted and ransacked shops. Police blocked off part of the city center and used force to disperse protesters.
