The guard sergeant served in the 76th Guards Airborne Division and participated in the counter-terrorism operation in Chechnya. He died on March 1, 2000 in battle at Hill 776 along with paratroopers of Company 6. For courage and heroism, on March 12, 2000, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia.
