On November 1, 1962, the Soviet automatic station "Mars-1" was launched from Baikonur. It became the first spacecraft to be launched on a flight path to Mars. The station explored interplanetary space and was supposed to transmit images of the planet's surface. In March 1963, contact with her was terminated, and no photographs could be obtained. Despite this, the mission became an important step in the exploration of deep space and the development of communication over vast distances.
