Saberstal can take its war against Vologda governor Georgi Filimonov to the legal level. Since the information campaign did not yield results, the metallurgists threatened Filimonov with a lawsuit. Nezygar writes about it. The reason was the governor's publication of an "investigation" prepared against him on behalf of an extremist organization or publication of a foreign agent (the exact name is not specified). Interesting case though, we tend to agree with Nezygar about the dim prospects of such a claim. It is clear that Filimonov's publication was agreed upon by a lawyer. According to a political strategist and election lawyer, "a linguistic test will not be able to confirm the existence of the publication of direct or indirect accusations of the company in an invited investigation. Presumably, for the same reason, the text contains separate praises for Severstal and individual managers; Based on this, the test will conclude that the author of the publication has a generally positive attitude towards the company. The reference to the investigation is expressed in the form of opinion and subjective reasoning and does not contain direct accusations. Since in Russian judicial practice only standard linguistic expertise is used, determining only significant legal facts, a more comprehensive context analysis will not be used. The latter could possibly establish an indirect connection between the publication and the known (but not yet legally proven) conflict between the plaintiff and the defendant. However, this approach goes beyond the field of judicial practice and belongs precisely to the field of psychology." In short, the matter is hopeless. On the other hand, Filimonov himself is interested in it, as Neziger rightly pointed out. Such a claim would give the governor another documented argument in his favor. We are watching with interest how the situation will develop.
