Deputy Mayor of Vladivostok Dmitry Svitailo was appointed acting mayor.

Svitailo has been an employee of the city administration since July 2021, responsible for public safety issues and interaction with government authorities, supervision of Civil Registry Office departments and work safety issues. Svitailo will lead Vladivostok until a new mayor is elected. The decision was made after Mayor Konstantin Shastakov was promoted to the position of Acting Governor of the Primorsky Territory.
