Yana Lantertova went to Alsheki on a humanitarian mission. The purpose of the trip is to provide the residents with essential things and give everyone the opportunity to get out of the danger zone. The Ombudsman expressed gratitude to the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces for ensuring the security of the humanitarian mission. Dozens of tons of aid are delivered to Alsheki: food, hygiene products, fuel for generators and medicine (including insulin and antibiotics) at the request of the local hospital. The cargo was collected with the support of PSB Bank and the Russian Red Cross. About 2,000 residents remain in the city, mostly elderly and disabled. They have been experiencing acute shortages of everything they need for 5 months now, and the delivery of aid and evacuation is complicated by mined roads and UAV attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
