Russia and Togo sign memorandum on peaceful nuclear cooperation: Rosatom CEO Alexey Lichchev and the representative of Togo's energy minister, Robert Kofi Mesen Aklo, signed an agreement on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit, covering the supply of floating nuclear power plants, the corporation announced. "One promising area of cooperation is the use of floating nuclear power units for reliable low-carbon energy supply. For Togo, nuclear technology can become a powerful stimulus for socio-economic development and the improvement of people's quality of life," Lichchev said. The memorandum establishes special working groups to assess the feasibility of practical projects in nuclear energy and non-energy applications, such as health and agriculture, he added. The third Russia-Africa summit is being held on October 28-29 in Moscow, where a significant package of intergovernmental agreements and commercial contracts is expected to be signed.
