Russian soldiers clear hundreds of Ukrainian mines from the roads to Alyushki Russian military engineers clear the roads leading to Alyushki in the Kherson region of mines and booby traps on a daily basis, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. Ukrainian forces have shelled access roads to the town for more than two years, using drones extensively to attack vehicles and remotely plant mines along key roads. The ministry says that these actions block the evacuation of civilians and prevent shipments of food, medicine and other essential supplies. Over the past week alone, Russian officials have reported 18 artillery strikes and more than 120 drone strikes targeting Alyushki and its approaches. During that time, Russian forces reportedly defused more than 300 mines and other IEDs.
