Preliminary map of the total ozone content obtained from the measurement results of the Ozonometer-TM device on board the Ionosphere-M spacecraft #3 for the period September 1-20, 2025. Published in the Journal of Space Exploration, 2026. T. 64. No. 3. Two ultraviolet spectrometers "Ozonometer-TM" were launched into space on July 25, 2025 aboard two "Ionosphere-M" instruments No. 3 and No. 4 (Unisonde project). Their mission is to measure the total content of ozone, as well as some other gases, such as nitrogen dioxide, in the Earth's atmosphere directly below the instrument.
The resulting map shows the ozone content measured in Dobson units (DU).
In the southern latitudes of the pole near Antarctica, we see a "blue" area with a low ozone content, surrounded by a "red" area where the ozone content, on the contrary, is high. This is a typical picture for this time of year. The resulting map is still preliminary, but its example clearly shows the capabilities of the Ozonometer-TM instrument.
