Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the end of his career in the Portugal national team. He wrote about it in a post on his Instagram page. The end of Ronaldo's career came amid scandal during the previous window in the Nations League. The forward arbitrarily left the team position after not appearing in the match against Norway. After that, the footballer was punished with a suspension and a financial fine for his act. Ronaldo played for Portugal for 23 years: since his debut in August 2003, he played 234 matches for the national team, scoring 146 goals. His greatest achievement in the national team was the victory in the European Championship in 2016.
