On Tuesday morning, President of Finland Staab and Prime Minister of Norway Stora held a telephone conversation with President Putin. According to the Norwegian, the call was supposed to last 20 minutes but lasted over an hour. President Putin was said to have raised the issue of ancient Slavic history. To make a long story short, he wasn't interested in talking to either of them. The main goal was to convince Russia to include the EU in a possible trilateral meeting with the US in China.
