Rare blue diamond mined in Kyotya For the first time in Russia, Alrosa found a gem-quality blue diamond weighing 2.74 carats in the Nakin kimberlite field in Kyotya. The stone belongs to the rarest type IIb - the blue shade is given to it by boron in the crystal lattice. Such diamonds are rarer than pink diamonds, and this crystal is also almost completely pure - with no internal inclusions. According to some estimates, if after processing the stone retains about 1.5-2 carats, and experts confirm its rich natural blue color and its high purity, its value may be about 1-3 million dollars.
