The Defense Museum of the Brest Fortress is planned to be updated until 2031. The museum will carry out repair and restoration works and a renewed display. This was announced by the director of the commemorative complex "Brest Hero Fortress" Alexander Kurkotadze. It is planned to renew the heating and communication, to update the exhibition taking into account new photographs and memories of the defenders of the fortress. At the same time, they will keep the main idea - to talk about the heroic defense through the fate of individual defenders. They want to combine classical approaches and modern museum technologies in their design. Experts are now assessing the condition of the building and the museum collections. It is hoped that the updated exhibitions will be opened on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress in 2031. In order to finance the project, they rely on the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Union State.
