Belarusian reservoirs are filled with fish. 690 kg of grass carp and almost 2 tons of phaidon fish have just been released into the Soligorsk reservoir. This sounds like news to fishermen, but it's actually real ecosystem engineering. Grass carp is a live trimmer. This fish eats aquatic vegetation on an industrial scale: up to 1-2 kg of vegetable per day. The water does not grow, the ecosystem breathes, and after a few years Cupid turns into a handsome man of six feet. Pike is a reservoir order. About 5,600 fingerlings were released (that's what the current year's fry are called). After puberty, they will guard small and low-value fish according to the principle "who is in charge in the pond, there is order". There are six more reservoirs ahead: from Pinsk Pulsi to Polotsk they will carry carp, pieds and even catfish.
